<---- MOTTLEDHEART
she-cat, nineteen moons
ALLIANCE: HillClan
APPEARANCE: White-spotted tortoiseshell tabby with one green and and one blue eye.
PERSONALITY:
f i e r c e ! Delicate and feminine she may be, but Mottledheart is no meek pushover. Her slender, small body is a coiled spring, ready to release its hidden potential at the flick of a claw, and she will never hesitate to do so. She has the potential to be passionate and reckless, and will always follow through with her threats, should she make them. However, she is also unwaveringly loyal to her Clan and friends, and would defend any of them viciously if called to do so. She tends to be a bit impulsive and can hurt others without meaning to, but nevertheless she is good at heart, and will always seek to make up for her actions.
g a l l a n t ! There is very little that has the power to put fear in this cat's eyes. Generally good-natured, she is intelligently optimistic about most things, determined to find the best outcome in every situation no matter how bleak it seems. She has a strong belief in loyalty and fair treatment, and genuinely wants the best for every cat in the forest, although her Clan will always be first in her mind. She has a bit of a hero complex, though, and tends to rush to save any cat she comes across who should happen to be in peril, even if it's something she can't handle by herself. In fact, there are times when she feels the need to search for good Samaritan things to do, as if she isn't fulfilling her duty as a Clan cat if she isn't helping someone.
n a i v e ! On a similar note, Mottledheart seems to view the whole world through rose-tinted lenses. She is very young for a warrior, and actually has very little experience with battles or death. Outside of the occasional border skirmish or death of a Clanmate, she has never had to live through any hardship, and has never lost a close friend or family member. As a result, she has very little idea of the cruelty that life is capable of throwing at her, and tends to think the best of everyone unless conclusively shown otherwise. Even if she has experience with a cat of poor character, who has always made bad choices in the past, it takes very little to convince her that they have turned over a new leaf, no matter how many times they go back on their word.
r o m a n t i c ! Deep down, Mottledheart isn't only a noble, slightly impulsive and overly trusting cat who wants to help her friends and her Clan however she can. She may be all of things, but there is more to her than that. At her core, she wants what any cat enamoured of Clan and kin does; a family, a mate, a love. She is caring and selfless, and wants to share everything that she is with a mate so that they can raise kits together with the same strong kind of family bonds that her parents gave to her. But she doesn't just want a mate and kits; it has to be true love, and nothing less, for she knows that such a thing exists, and is determined to find it. Somewhere there exists a tom who will treat her with more love than his own life, and whom she can do the same for. It is this love that she desires.
REASON FOR NAME:
m o t t l e d ! Named at birth for her tri-coloured pelt.
h e a r t ! Suffix represents her strong morals and bravery.
FAMILY:
m o t h e r ! Dustwhisker
f a t h e r ! Leaftail
HISTORY:
m o t t l e d k i t ! Mottledheart's parents are not actually related to her by blood. After complications with her birth caused Mottledkit's mother to die of bloodloss and exhaustion, the young she-cat was suckled by another nursery queen, a warrior named Dustwhisker who had never kitted before, but was expecting her first litter within that same moon. This turned out to be a fortunate turn of events for both of them, as Dustwhisker unexpectedly lost her litter before they were even born, leaving her grieving, with only her mate and adopted kit to hold her up. Dustwhisker and Leaftail had been unable to conceive until that point, and would likely never have kits of their own, but they had Mottledkit, and they gave her all of their love as if she was their own true child. Mottledkit grew up knowing that Dustwhisker and Leaftail were not her true parents, however she always regarded them with the same love and affection as blood family, because they raised her and cared for her, and in her eyes that made them kin.
m o t t l e d p a w ! As a kit, Mottledheart had been friendly and outgoing, but she had no close friends, preferring to stick close to her mother and father. It wasn't until she was an apprentice that she began really talking to other cats her age, and made friends with a she-cat one moon older than herself, an apprentice named Willowpaw. The two she-cats quickly became fast friends, and did everything together from apprentice chores and training to patrols and hunting assignments. Where Mottledpaw was bright and impulsive, Willowpaw was more gentle, but with a sharp wit and a ready tongue. They complemented each other well, and swore that nothing would ever bring them apart. So it was that the two she-apprentices watched each others' backs for nearly six moons, and were both awarded their warrior names after fighting together in a border skirmish shortly before Mottledheart turned one year old.
m o t t l e d h e a r t ! However, despite Mottledheart's best intentions, not everything would continue to come up roses for the faithful duo. Only a couple of moons after reaching warrior status, Mottledheart's roving eye landed on a handsome young warrior by the name of Lizardclaw. It seemed her gaze was returned, and for a while it seemed like life was everything that she possibly could have wanted. But Willowleaf had her doubts about the tom's character, naming him a player and worse, and Mottledheart ended up rejecting her friend's doubts, pushing her away in the process. Despite attempts to reconcile their friendship afterwards, she would not abandon Lizardclaw, whom she could not bear to part from, and as a result Willowleaf remains estranged from her friend even now. For now the younger warrior hopes that her friend will accept her choice in time, and is concentrating on the possibility of raising a family with her mate. That is, if he sticks around enough to be of any help.
