[/size]The tallest and most gorgeous of trees resided within the golden fields of Goldenclan territory. Branches outstretched toward the sky, entwining and swaying as a soft new-leaf breeze gently rustled lush green leaves. There was something special about this tree. Something that caught the interest of many young kits and even a few older warriors. It was a myth, an old tale told to kits to satisfy their want of a good story just before they were sent off to bed. It was an amusing one to say in the least; a cat who could reach the very top of this tree would be able to touch Starclan. Ridiculous? Foxflight most certainly didn't think so. To her, tall tales helped to pass on culture and keep old memories alive and well. This myth was no different, yet as she padded through the golden grasses just over a hill her olive eyes couldn't help but to question how easy it seemed to reach the top. She was decently far from the tree, enough to make it look quite insignificant and lonely.
Padding her way along, Foxflight had managed to avoid most of the hustle and bustle she faced in her everyday life. Activity seemed somewhat low, and with the fresh-kill pile being steadily stocked by apprentices she didn't see any harm in having a bit of peace and quiet to herself. The tall sycamore had seemed the ideal of places to go. Not only did it provide shade and a nice place to nap, but by the lack of fresh scent trails there didn't seem to be anyone there. She wasn't good at handling big crowds, the poor thing often shut down whenever to many cats began crowding around her. With her head held lazily in the direction of the tree and her ears erect, the she-cat listened and soon a soft smile graced her kissers. She had been walking with so many thoughts buzzing around her head she hadn't noticed how little of a gap was left between her and her destination. Now that she was closer, the top of the tree could no longer be seen and she felt much smaller than she had when she had first glimpsed the sycamore.
With a few final steps forward, the sycamore tree cast it's shadow over the she-cat as she craned her neck and squinted her eyes to try and see the top, yet no such feat was possible. She'd have to move further back just to be able to see the midsection of the massive structure, but she was far to content with where she was now to budge.
Tearing her eyes from the tree to take a quick glance of her surroundings, Foxflight could finally see with her own eyes that it was just her and the tree. Normally the area acted as a training ground for apprentices, but it seemed as though they had preoccupied themselves with something of less importance. She didn't mind this at all. It meant not having to face 'surprise attacks' from apprentices that darted every which direction just to try and catch a bug. A quick turn towards the finicky female and she'd flinch and lose all focus on what she was originally doing. With the yowling of apprentices at the tree, she normally avoided the area unless to train her own apprentice, but minus the loud noise and Foxflight was in complete solace.
Foxflight took in the old scents of yesterday as she approached the trunk of the tree and gently placed her two front paws on it's base. So many familiar scents surrounded her, it was comforting to have them around even though if the owners of those scents were physically present she'd probably just shut down. There was a little voice in the back of her head, beckoning for her to try the challenge... try to reach the top, and if she did she'd be the first! No, being the first to do something didn't sound right to her. "What if someone wants to reach the top even more than me?" She sat, and her tail instinctively curled around her paws as she lowered a single front paw so that one remained on the trunk. Always such a hesitant little creature, never wanting to make a move unless told to do so. Told that it was okay to be the first. She only blinked and stared at the gray bark, tilting her muzzle back even further to stare into the branches above. With so many branches and so many leaves, it blotched out the entire sky.
