<---- WILLOWHEART
she-cat, 40 moons.
RANK:
Medicine Cat.
ALLIANCE:
HillClan
APPEARANCE:
Medium sized gray she-cat with bright blue eyes.
PERSONALITY:
kind;;
Willowheart is probably one of the kindest cats you will ever meet. She never puts herself first, and is always willing to help anyone with anything. Whether you need her healing skill, or a listening ear, she's game. She loves to spend time with others and share tongues. She likes having friends, no matter what clan they are in. She doesn't really like to alone at all. She loves putting her healing skills to use and being able to help others out. A deep longing to be something less than Medicine Cat beats in her heart, though.
motherly;;
Even though she knows she can never be a mother, Willowheart has a hart time suppressing her motherly instincts. She got a taste of being a mother when her mother passed on and she'd take her place as Smallpaw's mother. But it wasn't the same. She's always wanted to feel the kits in her stomach, to feel them nurse, and to know that she's brought new life into the clan. But she has come to accept the fact that she will never have any of this. She doesn't let it bother her, plenty of queens have kits that she can play with and watch over.
its wrong;;
Willowheart feels that she has chosen the wrong path with her life, and it eats her up inside. She knows that she can't step down as Medicine Cat because he clan needs her, but she also knows that she made the decision too hastily. She loves healing her clan, but she also loves Snakewind. She is torn, but she does the thing that she made the commitment to, and doesn't allow herself to dwell on her love for Snakewind.
intelligent;;
Willowheart is an extremely intelligent cat, and she has been since the day she was born. She can learn exceptionally quickly, and therefore she was able to learn almost everything she needed to know about being a Medicine Cat in a short period of time.
REASON FOR NAME:
She was given the prefix 'Willow' for her gray fur and the suffix 'Heart' for her kind nature.
FAMILY:Tigerfang - Father - Deceased.Lilypool - Mother - Deceased.
Cinderclaw - Brother - 40 moons.
Smallstep - Sister - 20 moons.
HISTORY:
willowkit;;
Tigerfang and Lilypool were young warriors when they became mates and had their first litter. Both of the kits in the litter looked identical. Their fur was gray without a blemish on it. The girl was named Willowkit, and the boy was named Cinderkit. The kits were born in the middle of Leafbare, and they were both very sickly. The Medicine Cat at the time spent a lot of time in the nursery with them, working very hard to keep them alive and healthy. By the time they were four moons old, they finally started improving. The Medicine Cat visited the den less and less, and both of the kits started walking around and adventuring. Cinderkit didn't seem to be as amazed at the Medicine Cat as Willowkit was. Every time she could get away from her mother she could run to the Medicine Cat's den and ask all kinds of questions about herbs and how to heal. It was clear from a young age what Willowkit's calling was. And when she turned six moons old she finally got to start her apprentice training in earnest.
willowpaw;;
The very day she was given her new name of Willowpaw, she went to the Medicine Cat and begged to be his apprentice. He agreed readily. He was getting on in age, and he knew that he would be pressed for time to teach Willowpaw everything she needed to know. Willowpaw and Hawknose really bonded throughout her apprenticeship. He became her best friend and she told him everything.. Well.. Almost everything. At about 10 moons old she met him. He was a bit old than her, about 2 moons, and that was why she hadn't met him in the nursery. His name was Snakewind, and she was infatuated with in instantly. Apparently, he'd felt the same toward her for some time. The two of them would sneak out of camp at night all the time, and just lay together. They were deeply in love, and Willowpaw started realizing that she'd made a mistake by becoming the Medicine Cat apprentice. On the eve of her 12th moon, she decided she couldn't do it anymore. She couldn't sneak around and hide her love for Snakewind. She approached Hawknose cautiously that morning, terrified of what he would say. She knew that he should be in the elder's den, she knew that he wouldn't have time to train another apprentice, but her heart beat in her chest for one thing, and that thing was Snakewind. But it would seem that StarClan knew of her plans to betray her clan, because when she padded up to him, she could tell that something wasn't right. She pressed her nose into him, and he looked up at her, his eyes glazed over.
"Willowpaw, I'm glad you're here," he rasped, and that was when she realized what was happening, "StarClan have decided to take me. There is much that I wish I could have taught you, but you are talented, and I know you will serve your clan well. I am proud of you." He slipped away after the last sentence was uttered. She felt her heart crack in a million different ways for a million different things. She threw her head back and wailed so loudly that several of the cats from the clan were with her in seconds. Among them was Snakewind. He pressed against her comfortingly, but she shied from his touch. She looked at him, her blue eyes broken, and he interpreted her look perfectly. With a hiss of hurt and anger, he stalked away, leaving the she-cat shaking. She looked down on her dark pelted mentor's body, and then up toward the sky. Surely he knew now what her intentions had been.
willowheart;;
A few days after Hawknose's death, she was given her warrior's name. The leader told her he'd never seen another cat who deserved the suffix of 'heart' more. Of course, at that point in her life, she was certain that her heart would never beat again. Snakewind wouldn't even look at her, her mentor was dead, and she had no idea what to do. So, she did the only thing she knew how to do. She served her clan. She barely ever took any time for herself, and she was pretty much just wasting away. She needed Snakewind in her life somehow, if he was only her friend. Or, if he would only look at her without pain in his eyes. He'd known what he was getting into from day one, and she didn't understand why he had to be so angry at her.
On her twentieth moon, two very important things happened. Her very old mother had kits, only one of which survived. The kit was named 'Smallkit', because she was one of the smallest kits the clan had ever seen. It took a lot of Willowheart's time and skill to keep the sickly kit and her aging mother alive. Her mother had actually been planning to join the elders when she found herself pregnant. Her father had already joined the elders. The second important thing that happened to her was something that finally pulled her out of her depression. One night, while she laid next to a creek, Snakewind appeared behind her. He finally spoke to her, telling her that he was still in love with her, and that he still longed for her. She cried that night. She wanted to be with him so much, but she knew she couldn't. They spent the night together, cuddled up. The next morning they decided it would be better if they didn't really speak. They knew that they couldn't be together, and trying to be friends would only hurt more.
About seven moons later, Willowheart lost her mother. The she-cat held out long enough to watch her youngest daughter become Smallpaw. Willowheart mourned for her mother deeply, and sat vigil for her with her brother, father, and sister. The three of them comforted each other, but she felt her heart crack again. More than anything she wanted to lean into Snakewind, to feel his warm pelt against hers, to breath in his comforting scent. But she knew she could never have that. Not even four moons later, she lost her father. He hadn't been able to go on without Lilypool. The three siblings sat vigil for him that night.
Willowheart went on about her life, taking the place of Smallpaw's mother. She watched proudly when Smallpaw became Smallstep, and finally her heart started to heal. She began to feel happy, trusting in StarClan that they had chosen the correct path for her.
When she was thirty four moons old, her apprentice came to her. Mistpaw. The young she-cat had trained as a warrior for a time, but she'd decided that her calling was that of a Medicine Cat. At first she'd wanted to turn her down, not wanting her to have to go through the same thing that she did, but then she decided against it. Who was she to tell Mistpaw that she might be making a mistake? She could remember quite clearly the certainty she'd felt at first. Maybe Mistpaw was meant to be a Medicine Cat more than she'd been. She accepted Mistpaw as her apprentice and began training her.
